Amana AP077R Portable Air Conditioner

The Amana AP077R is a well functioning, powerful, portable, stand alone air conditioning unit that does not require installation in the window. The air conditioner is easily placed in any room with a window or vent leading outside. This allows this unit to be easily transferred from one room to another which is a big plus for me living in different places each year in college (many of which don?t offer central air).

The air conditioner has 2 vents at the top to allow air flow to be adjusted. The air conditioner comes with a remote control that allows you to set the desired temperature of the room, fan speed, and to switch the mode that the machine is operating as. You can also choose whether to use Fahrenheit or Celsius.

In addition to an air conditioner function, the Amana AP077R also functions as a fan and a de-humidifier with a touch of the remote. The unit is powerful enough for a comfortable bedroom temperature even on the hottest days. My unit has also been very durable for the 2 years I have had it. It still functions perfectly after 3 moves and months in storage.

The Amana AP077R is overall a great product however there are some minor issues I have with it. Although there is a remote control, there are not other buttons on the unit aside from the power button. This is irritating if you cannot find the remote on a hot day and the AC is not in AC mode.

Another minor inconvenience is the length of the plastic tube given with the unit to go out the window could be longer. Aside from those minor problems this machine has its advantages with its portability and power.
