Amana ASX14 Air Conditioner

When I first had this installed I thought it was going to be pretty good. I picked because I thought it was the best quality (that I could afford). It saves money on electrical bills, but on hot days in the summer (L.A.) it can't quite cope with the heat, and the electrical price was a little bit higher than estimated.
I would recommend this for someone who lives in a climate that doesn't reach a temperature of over 100 degrees in the summer. Otherwise it is quite, easy to use and completely reliable. Overall I would give this an A-. However it is a good purchase for the money.
My main argument in favor of getting this is the reliability, price, and electrical bills. This air conditioner has always worked except for onetime. Other than a onetime issue I have never had any problems, like not starting up, or consistently dieing. The price was a little high for me, but I decided to splurge. I am glad I spent the extra money. Also, my electric bills were drastically reduced. However, my old air conditioner was really old, so it probably took more than average electricity to power it.
My main arguments against it are customer support and cooling. When the air conditioner broke one time it was under warranty, so I called customer support. It was one of the worst experiences of my life. I would not go through that again no matter what. I would rather go to an outside company and pay myself.
My only other complaint is that in the summer when it gets over 100 degrees, it does not get quite cool enough for me. However I like it about 69 degrees.
I guess I buy the same air conditioner again, but you might want to seriously consider other options.
