I bought this Window A/c sometime last year and it has impressed me a lot. It has a power consumption of 1800 watts and a cooling capacity of 1.5 Tonnes(18000 BTU) which cools my 400 Sq.Ft room very well.
The energy efficiency Ratio (EER) is given as 10 which is good enough for this economy model. Similar to other models it has an Anti-Fungus or Bacteria Filter but it lacks Deodorizing and Electrostatic filters. Blue star gives a one-year warranty on this product and i haven't had any problems with it till date.
It cools down to as low as 19 Degrees Celsius which is satisfactory. The only con i can point out is the loud sound which is unlike other Blue Star models.
The Pro's of this model are many such as, Automatic adjustment of the temperature with auto-switch off when not needed. It also has no condensation tank which will need to be emptied regularly.
It has an Anti-Corrosion body which protects it to some extent against rust, particularly for people living near the coast.
This model is quite affordable and helps you save us some money but is not that energy efficient, so any money you save on the unit will be spent on energy bills.
But they are very easy to install and has a low setup time requirement. It only has a mechanical temperature control and no remote control unit is provided. I paid around $350 for this product in November last year and i feel this is quite a good investment for my comfort.
So if you have long summers like i do in my city, i advise you to go for this model or a similar one, but most importantly a Blue Star model.
I also found that they has a 2-ton model which was costlier by $50 and a 3-ton model which was costlier by $100. And just to confirm 1-ton is equivalent to 12000 BTU's.
