Carrier 24ACA Comfort Series Air Conditioner with Puron Refrigerant

I had this AC unit installed new in May 2008 through a certified Carrier dealer. Its a 14.00 SEER and I am pleased that it has the new environmentally friendly refrigerant. I used the system all summer and it works great.

It did not freeze up one time and it lowered my electric bill from years past. I replaced an old no-named system from 1985, so efficiency was a given improvement. I like that its quiet too. When it is running, you can hardly hear it. All you hear is the air pushing throughout the house and out of the vents.

Outside, the condenser unit is also a lot more quiet than our old unit, which is really nice when you are on the deck trying to enjoy the outdoors.

Another thing that I really like about this unit is the ease of changing the filter. Its right in the front and only takes one filter at a time. If you forget to change the filter, it has a built in noise maker like device (do not know what it is called but it makes a lot of racket at the intake when the filter is full) to let you know it needs changed, so that is really helpful.

This unit is also more powerful but much smaller than my old unit. Its nice and sleek looking for a condenser and you can tell its really well made. Its all metal construction too.

All in all, I would highly recommend this AC unit to anyone. I wish that I could have gotten the most efficient unit they carried, but my home is from the 1960's, so that would not have made much sense.

I have no regrets with this purchase at all. If I had to do it all over again, I would be happy to get the same exact item; however, I would go with a different installer, as the company I used left a lot to be desired.
