Most of Frigidaire appliances are describes as Room Air Conditioners as they are cooling system, generally designed to cools one room only. Their room air conditioners are powered by electricity and are generally mounted into a window, fitted through a wall or they may be portable. Although there are a variety of room air conditioners, and many differing models are available, those manufactured by Frigidaire, fall into three distinct categories:-WINDOW-MOUNTED; BUILT-IN and PORTABLE b) HEAVY DUTY SERIES – range :(15-28000 BTU) c) SLIDER/CASEMENT SERIES – (8-12000 BTU) WINDOW-MOUNTED SERIES OF ROOM AIR CONDITIONERSFrigidaire has 3 categories of window-mounted room air conditioners Compact, Heavy-Duty and Slide -Casement.Frigidaire describes ALL their units in this category as Window Mounted - but other suppliers often describe them as ‘Thru-the-Window/Wall.’ Any Frigidaire Window Mounted Room Air Conditioner from their Compact, Heavy-Duty or Slider-Casement range can either be mounted on a Window or through a Wall. However units in Frigidaire’s ‘Built-In’rangemust ONLY be installed through a wall. COMPACT SERIES-OPP 5Part of the Compact range and sometimes called ‘Mini Compact’ the OPP 5 is the smallest type of unit in the Window-Mounted Compact series, with a 5,000 BTUH cooling capacity.It is perfect for small rooms or rooms where supplemental cooling is needed and cools room sizes up to 150 sq. ft. COMPACT - MS II SERIES-This Window-Mounted Room Air Conditioner is part of the Compact range. It usually called “Compact” and may be labeled “MSII”, or even “MSII Compact”.Its cooling capacity of ranges from 5,200 to 8,000-BTUs and is designed for room sizes of up to 350 sq. ft. COMPACT (II) -MSIISERIESLike the smaller Compact units, the Compact II is also labeled MSII and is a Window-Mounted Room Air Conditioner.It offers the highest the highest cooling capacity in the Compact range, from 9,000 to 12,000 BTUH. BUILT-IN(THROUGH-THE-WALL) SERIES OF ROOM AIR CONDITIONERSThis category of room air conditioner is placed outside the window mounted group as it is ONLY designed to be installed through a wall and must NEVER be mounted on a window.This range of Built-In, (Through-the-Wall) series of Room Air Conditioners have an 8,000 to 12,000 BTUH cooling capacity. Some in this series have a heating option as well, which ranges from 4,000 to 10,000 BTUH heating capacity. PORTABLE SERIESOFROOM AIR CONDITIONERSAs the name implies this group of room air conditioner are not permanently mounted in either a window to through a wall, but may be moved from room to room.Portable units still come under the label of Room Air Conditioner, although their installation and set-up is very different from window or wall mounted units. Frigidaire do a very limited range of portable room air conditioners with only two models listed on their website, both of which have a 9,000 BTUH cooling capacity and one of which has a 4,100 BTUH heating capacity Frigidaire portable air conditioners cools or heats room sizes up to 150 sq. ft., and are perfect for small rooms or rooms where supplemental cooling or heating is needed. SLEEP MODE The sleep mode setting gradually increases the temperature overnight, first by 2° after 30 minutes, and then by a further 2° after a further 30 minutes. It is thereafter maintained for 7 hours before reverting to the original settings. This gradual increase does not affect the coolcomfort for those in bed, but does help to reduce cost. AUTO COOL FUNCTION Starting at high speed, the unit adjusts to a lower speed as the temperature is reached. ENERGY SAVE The fan continues to run for 3 minutes after the compressor has switched off. The fan then cycles on for 2 minutes ever 10, until the temperature is above the set level, when the compressor switches back on. This help to save energy while maintaining a cool environment. 24 HOUR ON/OFF TIMER This is used to delay the start/ stop time from up to 24 Hour. AIR DIRECTION CONTROL An air direction controls allows air to be directed in a number of different directions around the room. Different unit have different selection from a two-way airflow directional option to a multi-directional airflow option.
