Frigidaire FDD25S1

The Frigidaire FDD25S1 is a decent unit for small to medium sized rooms. It is about the size of a medium trash can, and it is not unattractive. I have owned this model for about three months. I typically leave it on all day long. After three month of nearly continual use, the unit is still working well.
The digital interface is simple and easy to use. You can set the unit to monitor your room's humidity, so that the dehumidifier will turn on to keep your room at a certain level. I found that it takes about one week for the reservoir to fill up completely. The unit will shut off and a red display light will turn on when there is need to empty the water reservoir.
You will want to put the unit in one place, because it is somewhat heavy and awkward to carry around. Also, the cord is rather short, which limits where the unit can be placed. If you’re going to use it in a basement with limited electrical outlets, then you will probably need to use an extension cord. There is a plastic clip on the back of the unit, which is designed to keep the cord wrapped up when the unit is in storage. However, after three uses, this clip broke on my unit. The clip is basically a cheap twist tie.
When running, the unit is rather noisy. Think of a room fan with its setting on HIGH. The noise can be a bit distracting if you’re trying to watch a movie in the next room. If you are sensitive to noise, then you will probably want to close the door where this unit sits, which will limit its effectiveness at decreasing humidity in adjacent rooms.
Overall, this is a decent unit for the price.
