Frigidaire Split System

by Bill
(Oregon)

When my wife and I purchased our home ten years ago, I only had one condition (besides price, of course). It had to have central air conditioning.

My wife was able to quickly find a house to fill the bill. The house we purchased came with the air conditioner we are still using today, Frigidaire Split System.

This is a small unit located on a cement pad just outside of our garage. It is connected to our central heating unit so the fans of the furnace move the cool air around through our heating ducts.

Our house is a 4 bedroom, 1900 square foot, two story home. We do much of our living on the upper floor, where much of the heat ends up. Even though we live in Oregon and don't need the air conditioning often, this unit comes through year after year.

This air conditioner can quickly cool down our home and keep it comfortable. We have had it serviced a couple of times over the years, not because it was acting up but just as preventative maintenance. This model has basically been no trouble at all for ten years.

The unit is a little loud, but it isn't so bad you can hear it with the windows closed.

If you are working in the yard though, it is very noticeable when it kicks it.
