GE AGH08AHG1 is a great air conditioner we bought it in June of 2005. It cools down a very large size living room in a mobile home. Works good as a dehumidifier. This is important to us since we live in the country deep in the woods and the humidity gets pretty high during the summer months of June, July and August and the threat of mold and mildew becomes real.

This unit is a Low noise so we don't have to turn the volume up on the tv when the AC is running. So if someone just wants to run the fan or lower the temp using the remote is very helpful. We like having the remote control too, nice extra feature for my parents who are both elderly and getting up from there chairs is more of a chore now. Model efficiency is 9.8 EER.

Has an estimated yearly operating cost of $53.00. We don't use it year round so our added cost is much less than that. We will turn on the AC to clean the air if something smokes up the kitchen to bad enough. The price was right on this unit and for my parents who are retired and live on a fixed income buying two did not break the bank.

I recommend this product. We have always been happy with GE products. In fact after an older AC went bad in my mothers bedroom we went back and bought a second unit for her large bedroom. She loves having it and it works just as well as the first one we bought. And with the remote control she can operate the unit without getting out of bed.

As an added note when the compressor kicks in we don't see a surge in the power that makes the lights go down.
