General Electric Window Unit Air Conditioner with Remote Control

Model # AGH12AHGI
Serial # RH091372
12,000 BTU’s

It has been my experience that most General Electric product are easy to use and run smoothly with little effort. The brand alone says much.

This air conditioner has a digital face to control the temperature and speed of the fan and a remote control to control the setting from across the room. It has an up, down, fan, cool, low medium and high setting. This air conditioner has an easily accessible filter screen located in the front of the unit. It slips out for cleaning without ever removing the front panel.

At 12,000 BTU’s it comfortably cools the three mostly used and main rooms in my house. The temperature gauge can be set at your own personal comfort level. The unit will quietly kick on and off according to those settings automatically. Adjusting them is easy either with the remote or by hand. It has a digital reading of the curent settings and temperature chosen to cool the room.

The off white color of the unit easily meshes with most decors. It is a larger unit and will only fit in a standard or larger window. It cleans easily with a damp cloth.

I have had this unit for 5 years. With proper use and maintenance it is capable of lasting many more years. Proper installation insures smooth operation. I have not experienced any excess moisture gathering anywhere on the machine. I have not noticed any condensed moister on the window it occupies either. It drains properly and without doing anything “extra” to make sure it is right. I am very pleased with this unit.

There are two things that could make this unit better. The first thing would be a gauge to tell the current room temperature. The second would be if it came in other colors.

Remote Control

I bought this unit used and while I have the remote and have figured out the timer I do not understand what the fan settings are they all seem to be the same.
