Germ Guardian REV9102 UV-C Room Air Sanitizer-Refurbished
I purchased this item from Sam's Club when I was pregnant with my daugther. I read really great reviews about it only many different sites and was thrilled when I found it on sale. It was close to $200 so I was expecting the world form it when I got it. It was supposed to kill all the airborne germs, fight air born mold spores and also fight odors. Since I have cats and dogs and a husband, I thought this would do the trick. I plugged it in in the living room since I still had a few months before my daughter was due. I haven't noticed any difference in the smell of my home and neither has anyone I know. I really thought that I would be able to tell the difference in the smell at least when I walked in to my house. I have doubts that it really does anything.
I was so disappointed in this item that I emailed their customer service to ask if they had any way of testing the air to see if this thing was actually doing something and they replied with a very general reply stating to contact my local health department and they have city testing results of the air. Wouldn't that be outside, not in my home? I wish I had done more research and not based my purchase entirely on the reviews I found. I still have it plugged in in my daughters room, but I use it only as a night light for my daughter. It is also really great white noise for her to go to sleep to when it is turned up all the way. Not only does the product suck, but so does their customer service. It reminded me of the movie "My Best Friend's Girl" where Dane Cook is a customer service rep for an air purifier company and when people call in to complain it's just a big joke to them.
