Holmes Cool Mist Humidifier HM-1855

My review of the Holmes Cool Mist Humidifier model # HM-1855 is very good. This product features a 2.25 gallon tank with built in carrying handle. Other features include Accuset Technology, a LED displayed showing humidity level and fan speed settings and 3 fan speeds or automatic speed control mode based on humidity level. It features user selectable humidity level between 30 percent and 65 percent. The manufacture states the tank will run about 24 hours per filling but I have found to be refilling the tank about every 12 hours at best. This unit is capable of humidifying areas of up to 900 square feet.

This is my favorite unit out of all the other brands I have tried. I currently have 3 of these units in my house and couldn’t be happier. The unit is very compact in size and is visually pleasing to look at and is relatively quite. I have had no problems with leaking or electronics of this unit as with some other brands. The replaceable wick is inexpensive and lasts a long time if you follow the manufactures instructions on proper cleaning and care. Using the suggested water treatment products your unit will stay cleaner longer and will give you a longer life from the wick. Recommended weekly cleanings of the unit take about 20 to 30 minutes to perform. The wick sells for approximately $13.00 at most stores but you can find it online for cheaper. The unit comes with a 6 year limited warranty.

The only bad things I have to say about this unit’s design is to take some consideration into where you place the unit. Moving the unit with the water tray filled always seems to result in spilling water everywhere and if bumped into by children playing will result in the same outcome. Another con is having to refill the unit every 12 hours. A few pro’s of this unit is once it is setup you forget about it until refilling time and it is a quite running unit.
