Honeywell 83331 Silent Surround True HEPA Air Cleaner for Medium to Large Rooms
A bit of candor up front: I'm a longtime smoker living in a 3-bedroom apartment with 2 non-smokers. So, if you're looking for a review by an upwardly mobile, type-a personality, out there on the air purifier market hoping to satisfy his delicate antiallergenic sensibilities by finding a shining, spanking new Sharper Image gimmick–well, you're reading the wrong write-up. That said, if you, like me, are interested less in some miraculous-ionizing-air-filtration marvel, and more in search of a solid buy intended for real-world purposes, you could *not* be better served than by my Honeywell 83331 “Silent Surround” HEPA Cleaner.
The Honeywell 83331 is remarkably well suited to my (particularly significant) needs. I cannot vouch for its ability to freshen up yoga workshops. And I cannot guarantee it's the perfect complement to the upscale Boca timeshare. But I *can* attest to its functionality in removing odious heavy smokers' clouds to sufficient satisfaction of our picky non-smoking peers. Honeywell is well known for designing reliable products to serve practical ends, and the 83331 is no exception. And in my case, its ability to smooth out often-rocky roommate fallings-out—as well as generate imminently breathable air–has been a lifesaver. If you or your loved one also suffer–a yoke to my obnoxious affliction–buy the spouse or partner her lungs back. Buy a Honeywell.
Honeywells are also regarded for their silence. And here, my experience has been similarly positive: in addition to my first-hand witness to their widely acknowledged power and performance, I've yet to have a wink of sleep disturbed by any unbecoming sound.
