Honeywell HFD-120-Q Tower Air Purifier

I've had a huge problem with nasal allergies ever since I moved up to Indiana two years ago. About a month ago I decided I had enough and made the decision to purchase an air purifier. After a lot of research I purchased the Honeywell HFD-120-Q Tower Air Purifier from an online retailer.

I received the package quickly and was excited to see it on my doorstep. I set it up immediately and noticed that it was very easy to do so. I had no problems at all putting it up. This air purifier was going to go in my bedroom and it fit quite well. The style was great and fit the overall theme of my room. I read on the box that it covered as much as 170 square feet of space, so I knew it was large enough to reduce the allergens in my entire room!

The second thing I noticed aside from the coverage was that this purifier was a bit noisy. Now, it wasn't really a problem for me because I actually like background noise, but I do see how this would be a problem for somebody who does not tolerate background noise well. I didn't realize that it would actually be loud when I purchased it, so it was a bit of a surprise, though not really a bad one.

As time went on I did notice a drastic difference in my allergy symptoms. My nose was no longer as clogged and I could actually breath out of it. The air quality in my room seemed a lot better than it previously was as well. I also found myself sneezing less.

Overall, I'd say that it was a great purchase. It was a cheap model and it really does do what the package states. Though the filters are expensive, I am more than happy to put up with that fact since the allergens in my room have been greatly reduced.

Pros:
-Works Well
-Cheap

Cons:
-Loud
-Filters Need Changed Often

Worth the money
by: Anonymous

I have been owning this purifier for last one and half years and this is wonderful. This is a little bit expensive to buy with but this is very energy efficient and your current bills are not that much bcz of this. Operating costs are even less because it has permanently washable filters. I even have a dog and it works best with dog odors you don’t even feel like having a dog in the home.

It has one downside, it is very much sound generating when oscillating. It is very irritating, I suggested it to one my friends and she brought it, but the device stopped working after 9 months. But that’s not my story.. it works pretty well for me and it is not even noise generating at all. I used to suffer from mild allergies before bringing this unit in. But now it keeps it very clean and all that. The purifier even looks good, attractive and even has a slim body by which u can keep it fit in at any corner of your room. Easy to clean, quiet. What's not so great: Little pricey "Put this in office with smoker. Just minutes after smoking you can just enter room and have no clue someone was smoking in there.

It works great and is easy to maintain and it needs cleaning every couple months. Oscillation facility is there and you can cover the entire room quickly. best things is you never have to replace the filter.. Worth the money...

has done an excellent job at purifying the rooms
by: Anonymous

Pros
-it is quiet
- it is space saving

Cons
- hard to clean

I smoke in the house. Bad, I know. But I do. I bought two Air Purifiers based on the brand, knowing it is of great quality. I took the chance that it would be able to keep up with my smoking habit. I have to say that this Air Purifier has done an excellent job at purifying the rooms that I placed them in. The purifier has a remarkable 3 – stage cleaning system. Of course you have the ‘washable pre-filter’, an iFD™ filter, and the one I really like the most is the Ionizer Field. The Ionizer has a draw back as far as some breathing problems but I don’t find that to be of a factor in my house. I can leave them on all day and night without any noise disturbing me or my wife while we sleep or just go about our day. I don’t need to worry about a big use of electricity while running them for so long, as they are energy star™ rated.

This purifier, like many I am sure, oscillates, which I have found keeps the air flowing evenly throughout the room they are placed, keeping it nice and cool or warm (depending on the season, yes I run them all year long.) It works great with having pets in the house as well, cleans up all the bad allergy stuff in the air. And having an indicator light to let me when it needs to be cleaned is an added advantage for me.
