Honeywell Quiet Care

I've used Honeywell air purifiers for most of my life, and they're a godsend. Most of the time, my apartment is so stuffy with cat dander, mold from the wet basement below me, and different odors seeping up from the neighbors below.
The best thing about Honeywell air purifiers is that they work very well and are typically less expensive than some of the others.
Essentially, what you need in an air purifier is a strong (but quiet!) intake motor and then a series of filters which remove airborne contagions.
Some manufacturers have ultraviolet bacteria/virus removal, but that's largely un-necessary. Honeywell makes a good quality air purifier that won't bankrupt you.
They've got different models, but the one I use has HEPA filtration and an ionizer. The ionizer makes the room smell fresh--a lot like after a storm because they both accomplish the same thing. But the air intake motor sweeps the old air through the room, recycling it through their filter array.
Since I started using air purifiers about five years ago, and in that time I've bought two air purifiers, I've noticed that my allergies are nowhere near as bad as they used to be.
Cat dander, pollens, airborne smelly things as well--like when I burn something on the stove--are quickly removed from the air before they can annoy me too much. I sleep better at night because I'm breathing clean air, and the best thing is, it's quiet.
It's almost silent, a lot quieter than an air conditioner or a dish washer, so I can keep the air purifier right there in the bedroom with me and get a good night's sleep. Honeywell air purifiers can be found just about anywhere-- I got mine at Target.
The reason I chose Honeywell in particular for mine is that they also make high quality industrial components that are used in a lot of industries.
They've been around for a long time, stand behind their work, and provide an excellent product for the money spent.
I highly advise that you get an air purifier, and Honeywell makes a good one.
