Hunter 30090 QuietFlo HEPA Air Purifier

Hello. I am highly allergic and sensitive to all sorts of substances. Cat dander, pollen, dust … you name it and it makes my eyes tear, my throat close up and nose itch. Allergy shots didn’t help, so my allergist recommended getting an air purifier. I didn’t have a lot of money, so I was looking for something affordable that still had a decent rating. Since I didn’t know a whole lot about what I was buying, I did the best I could and opted for a Hunter 30090 QuietFlo HEPA Air Purifier brand, which, I’m happy to report, has really helped clean the air in my apartment.

I really can tell the difference since I’ve had the unit running. I have a small place and put the air cleaner in the bedroom, because that’s where it seems I had the most problems, especially when sleeping. I just wonder why I didn’t get one sooner. I like this unit because it’s a very quiet unit and it’s easy to operate. When I was looking around, many of the other air purifiers were quite noisy. This has a three-speed fan, so you can adjust it from high to low. Like most air cleaners, you do have to change the filter frequently, but that is a small cost for good, clean air, and a happy and healthy nose and eyes.

You can get good deals on the carbon pre-filters if you buy them in bulk. I get four of them and it costs me about $30. Check online for the best deals. The HEPA filter is a bit more expensive, but only has to be changed once a year or so. They say this is good for rooms up to about 140 square feet and my bedroom is just about that size, so it’s right on target. I have it sitting on the floor, but you can mount it on a well, which I may do at some point if I run out of floor space. It’s pretty versatile in that respect.

Overall, this does an excellent job for the price I paid for it (around $60) and I may be another one as soon as I’m able. If you have allergies, you won’t be sorry.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Pros: Inexpensive to buy and Inexpensive to maintain Cons: It may be noisy for some people. Some people may think the replacement filters are too expensive. (I have a hard time coming up with negative things since it’s a good product.)
