The Hunter 34407 The Carefree Permawick Evaporative Humidifier. I purchased this unit this past fall and couldn’t be happier. It has some great features like the Permawick filter, Nightglo nightlight, auto shutoff, built in handle on tank, digital humidistat, refill light indicator, 5 year limited warranty and a 36 hour run time. Other user controllable options are 3 fan speed settings, and a run timer (2, 4, 8, 10 hrs).

This humidifier is categorized for use in large rooms and it seems to back it up with its performance. As mentioned before it has a Permawick filter system that is antimicrobial to prevent the growth of mold, fungi, and bacteria and if maintained properly, never needs replacing.

This Hunter Humidifier does an excellent job of putting moisture into your home. After a few hours of operation it would have the humidity level raised by 10 to 20 percent in no time. Another great feature is the Permawick filter system, by simply following the recommended cleaning instructions you don’t have to run out and buy a new filter every few weeks.

The only real cons to this product is it’s on the noisy side when it’s running at medium or high fan speed setting’s so I would recommend placing it away from your TV or quite time area of the house. Only other con is the water tank design is not the most user friendly when it comes to removing and replacing back into the unit. I find this to be a struggle to accomplish, always having to move the fan housing and wiggle things around to get it to catch and seat properly in place. This is not something that is easy to do when you are trying to hold a tank of water and move things around at the same time.

I give this unit 4 out of 5 due to the tank mounting problem. Otherwise I would suggest this unit to anyone.
