Hunter 52" Avignon Low Profile Ceiling Fan, Tuscan Gold Model #: 22793

by William martin
(New Hampton NH)

I bought this fan due to its looks. Never did I realize it would take all day to put together. I have installed many ceiling fans as I have owned several homes.

This was the worst assemble process I have ever seen. The majority of the motor parts are held together by double sided tape which have came lose and I would expect to have them rattle when the motor is in use.

But the thing That made me return it was the pull cord to change speeds on the motor . It pulls very hard and even after I oil it. I knew it was a matter of time and it would break. There are two plastic inserts that the cord has to be pulled through which adds great resistance to the pull cord.

FYI. I read about a customer breaking his cord in regards to another Hunter ceiling fan. I was skeptic at first but I will never by another Hunter ceiling fan again. Truth be told I had better luck with cheap fans than this one.

Pros
- looks great

Cons
- terrible assembly process
- could easily break the pull cord
