Hunter Quietflo 30245 Air Purifier

My family has allergies and I live in an area that has a lot of pollen, so our family doctor suggested that we invest in a few air purifiers to help filter out any impurities, dust particles, and other irritants. We looked around, checked reviews and Consumer Reports, and decided to buy three Hunter QuietFlo 30245 models.

We were wavering between this model and one that was a little less expensive – both of them were able to service the same size rooms. However, the 30245 had electronic instead of mechanical controls and was Energy Star compliant, so it was worth the extra $15 in cost to get a better model. We have one of the Hunter air purifiers in the family room, one is in our bedroom, one is in our older son’s room and the last one is in our younger son’s room.

They have been reliable and seem to do a good job removing dust, allergens, odors and pollen from the air. I have noticed that my older son does not sniffle as much, nor are his eyes as itchy as before. My husband says it has helped his breathing. So if everyone feels better with them running, then I can’t complain.

The units are very quiet, even when running at the highest fan speed. It is programmable, so you can set it to run at a lower power during the day when no one is around. I have moved the unit from the family room to the kitchen area when I’m cooking fish, and it has remarkably helped to neutralize the fish smell pretty quickly, so that has been a nice plus. They are easy to move and relocate.

As with all air purifiers, you have to keep the filters clean and replace them at recommended intervals. They are a little pricey, and run about $59 each (retail), although you can check and get them cheaper at online retailers. Just remember to add in shipping charges. I would say that the Hunter QuietFlo 30245 does an excellent job of keeping the air fresh and clean in our house. I would definitely recommend this model to those considering a purifier.

Pros:
-Competitive price
-Very quiet

Cons:
-Replacement filters are expensive
-Sometimes vibrates if it is on tile or linoleum

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
