It has been so long since i commented here that i forget what page we r on. I have two sears still afraid to set out for fear I did something wrong in the basement and one Lowes. The one from Lowes is working and this is the third season....I gave up on sears for most everything. It is no longer top line and dependable.

Disappointed just like Jean by: Speedfreak
I also purchased a Kenmore dehumidifier that quit on me very soon after the warranty expired. Tried to start the system in its second season and the control panel was not responding. Sears was no help at all. They used to honor their products much better, even after warranty, but those days are long gone. Unles I can fix it somehow, I spent $220 for a dehumidifier that worked for 5 months. How nice.
Sometimes I just wish we could go back to simple dial systems. The advanced electronics seem to provide aditional opportunity for breakdowns. I am sure the unit is 95% fine, but without a keyboard to control it (or replacement of a blown fuse somewhere), this piece of junk is out of commission.
Went to Lowe's and bought a Frigidaire that has served me well for 3 years without incident. Besides lawn mowers, Sears has lost me as a customer.

Sears has lost their edge by: R
I bought a new Kenmore dehumidifier. It too stopped working properly as soon as the warranty passed. I took it for repair only to find out the repair process was scary. I had to forfeit 30 dollars up front, authorize 98 dollars of repairs and if it was above that they would call. You could be out 120 dollars before you blink on a 200 dollar unit. I have bought nothing from Sears that has lasted or where customer service was adequate. They used to be the place to go to get a good quality product, maybe not the best, but good. Now, their edge is gone and there are many other options you should try first.

I am upset also by: Jean
I bought a Kenmore dehumidifier right after my divorce and thought I was doing great getting a Sears one with Energy star rating...I bought a reconditioned one that they said was just as good with new parts, for $90.00......Within 3 months it wasn't working. I thought I was doing something wrong. I was working out of town and too busy to really deal with it and the season changed and when the next season came, there I was with amalfunctioning one worth nothing......so like a fool believing I did something wrong, I went back and bought another just like it only brand new this time, believing that Sears was reliable and would not sell junk....well here I am with TWO malfunctioning dehumidifiers and I am teed.....the 2nd one worked for a year....the 1st one was dead but now the fan will work and it shuts off in about 5 minutes......I say don't buy SEars anymore, they are has been.
