Kenmore 75050 (5,000 Btu)

I bought this Air Conditioner recently and I have found it to be the best one I have ever owned. Living in New England the summers can get pretty hot, so it is important (if you're like me and don't have central air) to find a good window air conditioner. This unit was not expensive on my budget and there are currently two in my home.

The unit in my bedroom gets used the most and it cools the small 12'x11' room quite well. The only problems I have with this model is that unlike The Kenmore 75121 in my living room the 75050 model doesn't have a remote control, also the 75050 isn't Energy Star-rated which can be frustrating to someone trying to keep their electric bill low.

Pros
- Cools small rooms quickly
- Cost Efficient

Cons
- No remote control
- No Energy

good buy!

Pros:
-Quiet
-Low Price

Cons:
-Doesn't appear to be energy efficient
-Is not energy star rated
-Flimsy material on the front and sides

The Kenmore 75050 was a great find. I needed to cool 2 small rooms during the hottest part of the summer and 2 units cost me right around $200. They are 5000 BTU rated which seems to do the job just fine for my 10x10 upstairs bedrooms.

Even though these are not energy star rated, they were small enough that it didn't cost much to run them. These units did not come with a remote control, but I don't really count that as a negative since the price is very low. They run very quietly.

My only concern was the materials on the front and side of the unit seem to be of lesser quality. The plastic pieces that slide out to cover the remaining area of the window bent easily and almost broke off without much applied pressure. Even with those issue, it was extremely easy to install and operate. Overall, an extremely good buy!
