Kenmore 7,800 BTU Single room air conditioner

We bought this air conditioner about two years ago, when we lived in a small, two bedroom apartment that was very hot. It worked well during the heat of the summer.
We ended up purchasing it after the owner's air conditioner died on the hottest day of the summer, when it was almost 90 degrees out. It was miserable! It was heavy, but not too hard to install.
We left it in the living room, and it did a good job cooling down the living room, and really the rest of the apartment When we moved into a house, we took it with us.
Our house is not as well built as the apartment was, and the air conditioner doesn't do as good a job as before. Of course, it has gone through two summers in the south.
I think that it is one of the quieter air conditioners I have used. You can hear it of course but you can sleep through the sound and it doesn't wake you out of a sound sleep.
You also do not have to turn the stereo and the TV to the full volume to compete with the noise.
I will say that assembling this unit takes a little more time but it is well worth the effort. Just follow the directions closely and be patient.
