Kenmore Model #580.75050500

by Beth
(Maryland, USA)

I bought this air conditioner about a year ago at Sears for the price of around $89.00. For someone who rents a small apartment in a place where the summers get to be in the mid 90's- it was the best investment I think I could have made.

I ran it continually (on high) from July until October of last year, kept it in the window through a brutal winter and it snapped back on with no problems after it became needed again this past April/May.

After I used and abused it all of last year the filter easily was able to be taken out and cleaned then put back in with the results that I saw after I first bought the thing. It easily cools the entire small apartment down and I miss the humming it makes when I don't have it during the winter!

All in all, it's a great value and a great air conditioner to have if you live in a small place or just want one room cooled. As for energy costs, my heating bill is higher than the summers with the 'air' on.

love it!

I love our air conditioner. In fact we own two of them. We live in a mobile home double wide, and one cools down the whole front & one cools the back of our home. What I especially like is that it has an energy saver setting so it helps on the electricity bill.

Another pro is that it has a remote control, which comes in handy when we use the microwave.

So that leaves me to my cons. I have to shut it off when we use the microwave. If I run both then the house power goes out.

Another con is if you want the air to blow really hard you have to adjust the fan settings, and not just the temperature.

Doesn't cool a dog house
by: Anonymous

This thing is only good in the Springtime to move a little air. Doesn't even cool a small 12x18 room. Barely worth turning it on.
