Having small children at home, a humidifier is something we always need. Often we find a good humidifier but then when you try to find a replacement filter, you find that they no longer make that particular one and now you are stuck with a useless humidifier.
After I found out I pregnant with my second child I started putting together the birth registry with all of the things we needed for the baby. A new humidifier was on the list. After much comparison shopping I settled on the Lanaform Vapolux.
This humidifier allows you to set the level of humidity you would like in a room and the humidifier will automatically adjust as it senses the humidity in the room. It also operates by remote. Another wonderful advantage is that it does NOT require a filter of any kind. T
he reservoir holds 6 liters of water which means it can run constantly a whole night and not run out of water. This has been very important for my 3 year old son. I fill it up every night for him and he turns it on. It is part of our nightly ritual with him and allows him to sleep through the night without waking himself up halfway through the night coughing.
In addition, this humidifier offers an ionizer which has become very important for us. Our six month old son suffers from allergies and the ionizer helps keep the air in his bedroom cleaner which means he also sleeps better at night.
Two things I love about this humidifer are that there is NO filter and that the reservoir is large enough to allow the machine to run an entire night without running out of water.
Two things that I don't care for are the remote as I can only seem to get it to work about half the time and the user's manual which is really only one page of information so you spend a bit of time trying to figure out the finer points on your own.
On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best, I would give this a 4 1/2. It certainly is the best humidifier I have ever owned.
