I bought the Sanyo Ductless Ari Conditioner and Heat pump model 24KHS72 last month and found it to be a versatile air conditioner. Being a ductless air conditioner, there was no need to cut open a large opening in the wall. The indoor unit only had to be connected to the outdoor unit via a refrigerant line through a 3 ½ inch hole in the wall.

The inter unit wiring too was done through this small hole. There is virtually no sound inside the room as the twin rotary compressor is mounted in the outdoor unit. Because of the twin rotary compressor, there is very little noise and vibration.

It has a DC inverter which is very useful in speedy cooling and heating. You can adjust the temperature to the level you require and it automatically switches to heating or cooling according to the room temperature. This process is controlled by a microprocessor which ensures that the humidity and temperature in the room are always maintained at comfortable levels. There are three fan speeds which can be set according to one’s need and in addition the fan can be automatically controlled by the microprocessor when set to auto mode.

The biggest advantage of this air conditioner is the heating function. Once the temperature has been set, it automatically changes to cooling or heating if the room temperature rises above the set temperature or falls below the set temperature.

Besides the one hour off timer, it has a wonder 24 hour clock on off timer which can be programmed to set up to six timer based programs based on the time of the day. It also has a filter which can effectively trap germs, dust, mite, cigarette odor etc. The filter has three layers, one each for antibacterial, deodorizing and dust collection.

At a price of $2000 it is a worthwhile investment for comfort and a peaceful night's sleep.
