Sharper Image Ionic Breeze 3.0

I bought the Ionic Breeze in late 2005 with hopes it would help with my asthma. Through the course of its use I found that although I did not experience less asthma attacks I did find that the asthma attacks I did suffer seemed to be less severe and more manageable than before purchasing the Ionic Breeze.
Overall the Ionic Breeze 3.0 is somewhat of a hassle. It requires frequent cleaning, sometimes once a week or more.
If the unit is free of dust and moisture it runs fairly quiet but if there is a bit of moisture after cleaning the unit or an abundance of dust the unit makes an annoying hissing and crackling sound.
This noise is not loud enough to be heard across the room but I felt the unit was best in close proximity to the areas where I spent most of my time (the bed sleeping and my desk studying). During both sleep and studying I was able to ignore the machine but there were incidences where the unit was too loud and I shut it off.
Despite this, it was incredible to see the amount of dust caught by the Ionic Breeze in just one week of use, and although it has some shortcomings I have continued to use it for the very fact that I would rather the chore of cleaning the unit and the slight inconvenience of hearing the unit than have those dust particles floating in the air.
