Sharper Image Ionic Breeze Quadra

My Ionic Breeze works great! I have allergies to most of everything in the environment--indoor and out. But what I originally got it for was for my cat dander allergies. I have 3 cats and I love them all.

When I was diagnosed with allergies, I was not about to give away my beloved cats. At first I was hesitant to spend that much money on an air purifier, but I was glad that I have.

I cleaned my purifier once per week initially and each time the bars were covered in dusty filth. I didn't want to think about what I was breathing in before. Now my air is much cleaner.

It was very simple to clean too. The Ionic Breeze has a light to indicate when it needs cleaning.

After you pull the electronic bars out of the casing, all you have to do is wipe them with a damp cloth and remove the dirt and dust. Let it dry; turn the casing upside down to clear other dust, and put the bars back in so it is ready to clean again.

My parents got another brand of air purifier, but it did not have the cleaning power that my Ionic Breeze Quadra did.

After I showed them the cleaning power of my purifier and how much dust and dirt theirs was missing, they went out and got an Ionic Breeze Quadra as well.

Highly recommend!

Pros:
-You won’t spend a penny to clean (other than the paper and the water to dampen the paper)
-It is energy efficient

Cons:
-If you don’t clean it on time (Depending on how dirty your air filter gets: I.e., heavy area of traffic, pets, carpet, smoke, etc.) it will make a sizzling sound until you wipe it clean.
-It is very difficult to clean within the inner workings of the filter’s housing.
-You can only clean the blades.

I have used this model for over three years now and it is very simple to operate. The air purifier has been used in different areas of the house and it has proved time and time again, that it was a worth the price.

The Ionic Breeze Quadra’s main purpose is removing stagnant odors, removing dust and dander from the air; it leaves the air with a crisp feeling. The immediate change of the air quality can be notice within seconds of the Ionic Breeze Quadra being turned on.

Whenever we cooked, the odor that may linger was quickly removed from the air, the Ionic Breeze Quadra it always on and you would not know is there, and it is slim and can fit anywhere. It has three settings: low, Medium, and High.

A very silent product, it uses a kind of magnetic method to pull the dirty air behind it, passes it through three steel blades (About 3” wide and 24” long) which collects all the dust, dander, and other nasty stuff with in the blades, and forces the clean air through the front.

You can also feel a cool breeze coming out from it; I guess that is why the “Breeze” was added to the products name. The only time you hear any kind of noise, is when the air purifiers blades are dirty and are in need of cleaning.

To clean it, all you need to use is a damp cloth or paper towel (I recommend using a dry paper towel right after passing the damp paper towel, in order to improve the all functionality of the air purifier).

Pros:
-quiet
-easily purifies your air to cut down on allergens.

Cons:
-is not self-cleaning
-occasional whirring from lack of cleaning (though that can be easily prevented)

The Ionic Breeze line of air purifiers is one of the best I have yet to see or use. In my home, it does a wonderful job of filtering our air, which makes our home healthier and more free from allergens.

My little brother has terrible dust and pollen allergies, yet even with his medicine it could sometimes be difficult for him inside. However, since we've gotten the Ionic Breeze, not only does he suffer far less, we all seem to sneeze less and notice less dust and such on our hard surfaces.

Most air purifiers will do basic jobs such as this, but it is the features and ease of use that really sets this one apart. First, it is extremely quiet, which is wonderful if it's something you are going to have running constantly. It does tend to make a slight whirring noise when it needs to be cleaned, but other than that, it is perfectly silent.

When you do have to clean it, it's a fairly simple task that involves nothing more than a damp cloth over the inside dust-catching panels, and takes less than a minute to do, and with no mess.

I once owned an Ionic Breeze Quadra Air Purifier and it was the most terrible purchase I ever made. It not only did not do anything the advertisement said but I made my son and wife very ill. tI caused them to have a variety of health problems starting with respiratory problems infections and muscle and neurological problems.

My son got flu like symptoms, they could not diagnose it at first, one doctor said was west Nile virus, and another said flu. He had a long recovery period. My with is still dealing with the problems, she also had respiratory problems and still has to take treatment that costs several thousands of dollars to keep her immune system up to a level where she can fight off infections.

I found out later that an over abundance of ozone can cause disease and even death. Many people are allergic to it and have allergic reactions to it. In my opinion it is best to keep those ozone generators out of your house. This is my opinion because I never really found a doctor that would agree to that but when we finally removed the product from our home and quit using it my family’s health returned, for the most part.

They are feeling a lot better and seem to be healthier than while we the ozone generator. Someone needs to warn the public about ozone generators. I believe this is health hazard ad all types of these products should be taken off the market. It did seem to keep that air a little fresher but the health problems are worse.

great for three years

Pros:
-Specifically targets those scary petrochemicals that off-gas from new construction and new carpet
-Eliminated odors fast.

Cons:
-Cost-- always high for these
-Transformer blew out after 3 years.

We really enjoyed our ionic breeze and wish that the transformer had not failed on them after years of use. The ionic breeze works well for eliminating odors and in conjunction with other filters in the home.

For example, if you have a good filter on your central air system that will take care of the larger particles, this will do nicely for eliminating volatile organics (off-gassing from new construction homes and new carpets), smells from cooking and other small particulate offenders in the home. We liked the fact that it gave the house a pleasant smell.

But, some people are sensitive to these negative ions and some have worried about Ozone as a pollutant. We were not sensitive to it and really enjoyed having them around. They have begun making them again and the new ones have an Ozone reduction technology. But, I find Ozone concerns to be overblown-- so I was not worried.

If you had it in a small, enclosed space-- you might have a concern. This puppy can really put out some juice. Our systems eventually failed because the gunk you have to clean off the collectors also builds up on the source and eventually fries the transformer. Yuck!
