SPT SF-610 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with Ionizer

This air conditioner is definitely very convenient. It is very small and light. It is small enough to be placed in a car and brought where ever you go. I brought this portable air conditioner with me to college. It worked well in my dorm room and in the house I rented for the last couple years I was in school. I have lent it to a friend who worked in a small hot office. He said it worked for what he needed. It not only cools the air but it dehumidifies the room it is placed in as well. The fan on this conditioner covers a decent area sing oscillating louvers.

This model also includes an ionizer which helps purify the air as it cools it. This model is not going to drop the temperature of the room drastically. It is perfect for maintaining a cool temperature that is much more comfortable. This model is also designed to be used to cool an extremely large room. I had this in a dorm room that was about ten feet wide by fifteen feet long and it worked perfectly. This model features computer controlled air flow. The air flow can easily be adjusted between three different fan speeds.

A remote control is included with this model, but I had problems keeping track of an extra remote. I have plenty including all the remotes for my stereo components and TV, so the addition of this remote was a little annoying. The other problem I had with this remote was that it was on the same frequency as my stereo receiver. So multiple times when trying to adjust the volume of my stereo or the speed of the fan it also changed the other components level. All in all I recommend this unit if you do not want to spend a ton of money and your room is not that large.
