Vicks 1.5 Gallon Vaporizer with Nightlight V-150
I purchased the Vicks 1.5 Gallon Vaporizer with Nightlight for my child's room. The vaporizer requires regular maintenance. When in use I normally clean the reservoir with vinegar and lemon oil and refill the reservoir daily. Otherwise it does get a mildew build-up in the reservoir tank.
The nightlight is a great feature. The light is dim, perfect for night time use.The night light feature seemed to ease my child's worries of the strange sound coming from the corner of his room, since he could see it. The nightlight was a plus for me so that I could easily locate the vaporizer and thus not trip over it during the wee hours of the night.
It is relatively quiet. Just a little humming sound. The vaporizer puts out enough vapor for a small room. (In this case a 10X13 size room) however when moved into a larger room (A room than measures 16X20)the out put was nearly non-existent and therefore ineffective. But worked just fine when put back into the smaller room. The cord is a little too short and has to be kept very close to the outlet it is plugged into, which bothers me a little. I feel a somewhat insecure about having 1.5 gallons of water so close to an electrical outlet.
But overall, it is a good product for occasional use. I believe I payed around fifteen dollars for the vaporizer. It is a great price for a useful product when compared to the other items in its category that were priced around fifty dollars or more. I would recommend this for anyone who needs a vaporizer during the winter months for the cold or sore throat with dryness. Rating: 4/5 Pros: Price, Nightlight Cons: Short cord, must be used in small rooms
