Vicks 3100 humidifier

I was given this as a gift. The design is very appealing, with the see-through blue plastic window for the water. It seemed a bit hard to fill, as I couldn’t figure out how to open it, but I grew accustomed to it pretty quickly.

It’s supposed to run for 24 hours, and to be honest I don’t know if it does because I just run it at night when I sleep. It’s not too loud, and I quickly grew accustomed to the sound and was able to sleep with it running.

Since there’s always water left in the morning I assume it can go for well past the 8 to 10 hours that I generally run it, but I pour the water out in the morning and fill it up the following evening because I don’t want the filter to get mold.

Actually, that is my biggest concern. I know it’s pretty inexpensive, so maybe expecting some kind of indicator for mold by which to know when to replace the filter is unreasonable for such an inexpensive model-- but if there’s anything I could change or add, that would be it.

Otherwise, I have no complaints and like this device a lot.
