Vick's V5100N 1.7 Gallon Ultrasonic Humidifier

by Grace
(Florida)

The Vick's Ultrasonic Humidifier was the first humidifier I ever purchased at Walgreen's. I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed at all. It worked out pretty good and I use it often. I divide my time between Florida and Colorado which is a big difference when it comes to humidity. I am always greeted with a very dry air in Colorado and my nose dries up and I constantly get nose bleeds.

However, after I purchased the Vick's Humidifier it stopped the nose bleeds and added much needed moisture to the air. What I really love about this humidifier is the fact that it is super quiet and I can run it all night without the noise waking me up. I can also run it all night without running out of water because it has a twenty gallon tank. It also has the advantage that the tank is a clear blue plastic that allows me to check how much water is left. Prior to purchasing this humidifier I had an older humidifier that wasn’t clear, and it would often run out of water because I couldn’t see clearly into it.

With the Vick's Humidifier I can also control how humid the room is. Too humid is bad and not humid enough is bad as well so I like to set it at the right temperature. The bad part about this humidifier is that the filters have to constantly be changed. I am very bad at bothering to check filters and things that need to be changed regularly. I also have to admit that a lot of money goes into replacing filters yearly since I constantly use my humidifier.

Overall, this is a great humidifier but like most things it does have its disadvantages. Like the old saying goes, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.”

The pros of this humidifier is the ability to control the humidity level, the length of time you can run the humidifier before you run out of water, and the quietness.

The cons of this particular humidifier are replacing the filters, and the money that goes into replacing the filters.
