Vornado AQS15 True HEPA 3-Speed Air Purifier

I've had this air purifier for about two years and have really liked it. White noise doesn't bother me so I tend to leave it on most of the time, or if I've got people around I'll just turn it on when I leave the house, and I appreciate that it minimizes dust in my apartment if nothing else. Honestly I've had it since I've lived here, so I'm not sure if it would be much dustier or mustier without it, but the sheer amount of crap in the filters makes me think it's working pretty well. It came with one hepa filter and two carbon filters.

Mostly I just vaccuum the carbon filters every so often, and the hepa doesn't need to be replaced except every 3-5 years, I think, because it actually filters better once it's a little full. Fine by me! And I'm pretty sure I can get replacement carbon filters at target for around $4-5 once I finally bite the bullet and do it. I'd give this 4 stars out of 5, with the only markdown for noise (which would bother some people) and because I still have some dust in my apartment and in theory I guess it could be stronger - not without the noise tradeoff, though. It's also not the most beautiful thing in the world, but it's pretty unobtrusive and neutral, and I'd rather have it be smaller than some of the big stand up filters. All in all, I got this for around $75 off of woot and think it was a great deal.

Pros
- no expensive filters
- picks up a lot of dust, pollen etc.

Cons
- noisy on its highest setting
- not the most attractive addition to your room

Rating 4 out of 5
